The KiTs bilingual Dayschool
The essentials in brief
The KiTs - Bilingual Dayschool opened its doors in the summer of 2005. Our dayschool offers support for bright children through a learning environment that is tailored to their individual needs and builds on their strengths. We cater to average to intellectually gifted pupils as well as bilingual children between the ages of 2 and 15 years.
Through the combination of lessons and free time, the school applies hands-on methods. The shared free time over lunch and optional supervised time before/after school offer additional opportunities for developing social learning progresses. The dayschool structure also provides relief for working parents. External children can also join our supervised lunch and/or after school programs upon request and agreement.
KiTs is an approved private school by the Department of Education in the Canton of St. Gallen. We follow the St. Gallen curriculum and provide the same opportunities and qualifications that can be found at other St. Gallen public schools. Changing to a public school or applying to an addition training program is possible with the education achieved at KiTs.
The small classroom sizes make it possible to encourage all children individually. Through independent exploration, experimentation and exchange of knowledge, the true potential of each child’s talents begin to unfold. The additional intensive learning lessons are also open for external children.
Thanks to the German-/English-speaking learning environment, the children absorb a second language, much like they would a mother tongue.
The lessons take into account the talents, stage of development and needed learning time of the individual child. The curiosity and joy of learning are awakened and their self-confidence is strengthened by the successes experienced.
For the well-being of children, communication between parents and teachers is particularly important. Upon request, parents can also meet with our team to ask questions about their child’s development or to seek counselling.
Identifying giftedness and special needs
Upon request, our team can analyse the level and potential of your child, in order to create the optimal learning environment. Further psychological identifications, such as learning type, are also possible.
Bright children are often able to compensate for any deficits so that they are not noticeable for a long time. Unfortunately, such strategies of avoidance can become a problem later in life. If desired, those affected can work with our counselling team so that small weaknesses do not become a stumbling block.
